Paul’s initial stunned expression but now his blue eyes were expressionless as
he held out his hand to her. “Hello, Lisa, it’s been a long time, hasn’t it?”

I like the way you described his reaction. It feels quite authentic for someone who unexpectedly encounters someone who represents a tumultuous part of their past. Very nice job.

Great interaction here between these two. I'd like to know the history between these two :)
You can sure feel the tension there. whether it's from hurt feelings or a deeper feelings of love it's not yet clear. Makes the reader want to know.

One question hits me from your lead-in. Is she a single mother to her son, or is she married? Could make quite a difference.

M.L. - I think it's a mixture of both, although they would probably deny the love at this point!
