Sunday Snippet

Another eight sentences from my work in progress 'Irish Inheritance' for the Weekend Writing Warriors and Snippet Sunday.

The lawyer has told Jenna she is about to inherit a large sum of money and a half-share of a house in Ireland from an unknown benefactress. Now she has some questions - and some concerns.

“Have you any idea why this Irish lawyer wants me to meet him?”

“As the executor of the will, he has accessed the house, and wants you to see it before you make any decision about its sale.”

Jenna narrowed her eyes. “Why?” Visions of a dilapidated house flashed through her mind. Had the roof fallen in? Was it riddled with wet or dry rot, or overrun by rats? Maybe it would need that fifty thousand spent on it before it was fit to sell.

Many thanks to everyone who visits each Sunday, and for your encouraging comments. Next week you'll find out who is going share the inheritance with Jenna!

  16. Oy! I'd be worried too...about all those things and the lawsuits from the people who just happened to be "injured" on the property when they heard the estate had $$ to burn. Such a litigious age we live in sadly that causes my mind to go there.
