Six Sentence Sunday

Six more from my contemporary romance 'Fragrance of Violets', continued from last week when Abbey surprised Jack in their Paris hotel room by appearing in a see-through baby-doll outfit.

Their kiss deepened as his hands moved down her back, then round her hips and slowly upwards again.

Her head went back and a small moan escaped her throat as she surrendered to the delicious feel of his hands through the silky baby-doll top.

“Not sure I can undo this clasp,” he muttered.

She loved his frown of concentration as he fumbled slightly with the fastening, but once he’d managed to open it he slid the flimsy top off her shoulders until it fell to the floor. All the time he was looking down at her breasts.

“God, you’re beautiful,” he breathed.

'Fragrance of Violets' is available from Whiskey Creek Press and Amazon.

If you'd like to find out more about the Lake District, where most of this contemporary romance of forgiveness and renewed love is set, do look back at my A-Z Blog Challenge posts for April.

Six Sentence Sunday - Fragrance of Violets

My new contemporary romance, 'Fragrance of Violets' set mainly in England's beautiful Lake District, will be released next month.

Here's more of Chapter 1, after Abbey has heard that Jack Tremayne has returned to the her Lake District village home.

Abbey forced the painful memories aside and picked up the dustpan. On her way back into the shop, she paused to listen to her mother and Mrs Garside.

“Is he back for good?” her mother asked.

“I don’t know. Sandra heard it from Barbara who saw him getting out of a car outside Fir Garth yesterday evening.”

“I’m surprised he has the nerve to show his face here again, after all the trouble he caused for this village,” her mother said tartly.

More next week.

Six Sentence Sunday - Jess and Kyle's first meeting

The final excerpt from my 2011 release of 'His Leading Lady' about the first meeting between Jess and Kyle.

“Oh, and by the way,” Kyle added, as he reached the door and looked back at her, “there’s one more difference between you and your sister. You have far more spirit and I like a feisty woman.  Au revoir, Ms. Harper.”

“Goodbye, Mr. Drummond,” Jess said very firmly.

The door clicked shut behind him, and she let out a short grunt of exasperation, followed by a sudden wry smile. At least he’d conceded that she’d given as good as she got.

Thanks to everyone who has followed this series of excerpts and left comments for me.
I'll be back in the New Year with an excerpt from  my new book 'Fragrance of Violets' which will be released by Whiskey Creek Press in February.
Meantime, you can read the whole of Chapter 1 of 'His Leading Lady' at the Whiskey Creek website, or at Amazon
